Retro Butterfly Thoughts

I am CRAZY in love with this card and I am shocked. When I first saw the sketch for Retro Sketches #110 this week I was very worried. Lets just say it took a while for inspiration to come. I wasn't sure what I was going to do with the sketch, and this just sort of morphed out of it. I was working on this other card at the same time and I like this yellow and purple one using the Dynamic Duos #98 way better. If I struggle with a challenge, but come out loving the end result more I feel like I have grown in my stamping, and although this card is quite simple it requires some skill.

First, The cutting... well I learned the hard way, so I am speaking from experience here but there is an easier way. Take all the pieces you are using and cut them on angles together in a stack. I have a guillotine cutter so I can do this, but if you don't just be sure you are doing good measurements or you may end up with a headache like I did before I figured this out.
Each piece here is stamped with a element from the Hello Lovely stamp set. You will need your stamp-a-ma-jig for this as perfect alignment otherwise will be nearly impossible.
Let me know what yo think of my creation.
Here are a close up of my home-made candy dots; I love making those, in every color and all types of sizes.  and my coloured and fussy cut butterfly.

Here is the sketch and colour combo I used for this card.

Thanks for checking out my art,

  1. This card is awesome, Jill! So creative and I love the bow and the butterfly!

  2. Beautiful card and love how you created the cuts and colored the butterfly!! Great way to combine both challenges and love how you added the bow.

  3. Great job with the colors and the sketch! That does look like a hard one to create! Thanks for joining us Dynamic Duos this week!
