Ink-sprational Mojo Smiles

Hello there stamping peeps, This card I am very excited to share with you, I had to explain all the elements to a fellow classmate for 4 minutes today so HE would fully appreciate it. (Oh the joy to be in a study group with a stamper.) He also noted after looking at a few other photos of cards I've made that I "must love butterflies," and I do. I use butterflies on projects almost as often as sentiments. This card I made after the mother's day one and I wanted to continue playing with the watercolor techniques and this was a fun project and I love how it all turned out. I made my own DSP with my stamp-a-ma-jig again in a tone-on-tone effect so it wouldn't be too overpowering. I am entering this card in the following challenges: Less is More (Makes me Smile), Mojo Monday #342, and In{k}spire me #143. Let me know what you think; I hope it also makes you smile.

Zoo Amimals

Hey there, I hope you are having a great day today. I am very excited to post up this cute zoo animals punch art card for Retro Sketches #111, Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers #6 (embellishments) and As you See it #33 (animals).  I used piece of retired DSP from Parker's Patterns and went with the color scheme of the DSP to make the animals. I CASEd the Punch art from this pin on Pinterest. To make the white angled frame I measured and cut out a smaller off-centre square from inside my square using my trimmer, but you could also do the same with the square framelits. I used dimentionals to pop up the animals, and used chevron ribbon, a wood button and linen thread to pull the whole thing together. Let me know what you think.

Watercolour Mother's Day

Hello there friends, hope you are keeping well. This card I am sharing today is for mother's day. It is CAS and uses a watercolour background technique you can see here. I am making this card for the following challenges: Late Night Stamper's #247 (Mother's Day), Colour Throwdown #288(even though I'm outside the time for the actual challenge), Word Art Wednesday #129 (Anything Goes) and Clean & Simple #289. This Clean & Simple stuff isn't really my style, I like a lot more details, so I find it hard to do CAS but enjoy challenging myself to branch out to new stamping techniques ans styles. Here is the card, let me know what you think, I think I will give it to my mom for a 'just cause' card.

Halloween Washi in April

Captain America Inspired Card

So for anyone who knows me personally, it isn't a surprise that I am a big fan of comic book films. My Husband and I recently went to the movies and saw Captain America: Winter Soldier. First off the movie was good, so you should check it out as it worth seeing in theaters. I made this card with a Captain America feel for the following challenges: Sketch Saturday #305, Addicted to CAS #36, and Daring Cardmakers "Flag it Up." Here is the process I went through to make this card: Cut several strips of Real Red and Whisper White CS and make sure they fit together then adhere to the card base. I hand cut the star and covered it in chunky gold glitter to match the gold embossing. and although America isn't that far from Canada Captain America and Hollywood are. -Although I wish Chris Evans was nearer ;) -

I initially wanted the colors to match Captain America's new darker costume from SHEILD, but I still wanted to keep the flag theme so I went with the original comic book colours seen here.

Retro Butterfly Thoughts

I am CRAZY in love with this card and I am shocked. When I first saw the sketch for Retro Sketches #110 this week I was very worried. Lets just say it took a while for inspiration to come. I wasn't sure what I was going to do with the sketch, and this just sort of morphed out of it. I was working on this other card at the same time and I like this yellow and purple one using the Dynamic Duos #98 way better. If I struggle with a challenge, but come out loving the end result more I feel like I have grown in my stamping, and although this card is quite simple it requires some skill.

First, The cutting... well I learned the hard way, so I am speaking from experience here but there is an easier way. Take all the pieces you are using and cut them on angles together in a stack. I have a guillotine cutter so I can do this, but if you don't just be sure you are doing good measurements or you may end up with a headache like I did before I figured this out. 

Each piece here is stamped with a element from the Hello Lovely stamp set. You will need your stamp-a-ma-jig for this as perfect alignment otherwise will be nearly impossible.

Take 'Note'

Hi there internet, today I am sharing a very quick and CAS card for CASology's #91 Challenge "Notes." This card only takes 2 minutes to make and only uses one sheet of card stock. I rolled my Music Notes Wheel across my page in White craft ink and them embossed in white. I did the same process for the Take Note stamped image from the Paper Pumpkin kits from SU, them i punched it out using a 1 3/8 circle punch and adhered with dimensionals. This could be a good just cause card for someone who sings, like the girl at work who just lent me a copy of her album so I could hear the songs she has wrote and preformed; I am excited to hear that CD. :) Let me know what you think of this card.

Butterfly Wishes to a Friend

Hello blog community, today I am sharing a fun card created with a great colour combo and sketch I made last night. The sketch is from Sunday Sketch and Stamp #202 and the Color combo is this month's color palette challenge from My Favorite Things. I made the speech bubble from tracing the speach buble in the "seriously" Paper Pumpkin kit and shadowing it with a marker. I used Papillon Potpourri for the butterfly. As you have noticed I use butterflies on cards a lot, they are so sweet. The sentiment I printed off the Computer and cut to size.
