Theatre Stage Pop-up

Hello, this is a card I made for my friend Jacob as a gift for a play he is in that my husband and I are going to see. There is a video at the end explaining it, so I will let the video do most of the talking.
This card is made with the following challenges in mind: Sketch Saturday #397 and The Friday Mash-up #241. The Sketch Saturday Challenge is to use any sketch #215-396, I chose #252 and rotated it to fit a landscape layout. I substituted a theatre curtain pull embellishment for the sentiment n the sketch as I wanted the image alone on the front of the card. The image is drawn with my Silhouette sketch pens.
The Friday Mash-up #241 is to A) Create a project featuring a Monkey or Zoo Animals B) or Create a project with a Fancy Folds C) or Mash it up! and create a Fancy Folded Project with a Monkey. I chose "B" and made a card with a pop-up inside. I was inspired by this card I saw in a video and this one I saw in a photo.

Here is a close-up on some of the details on the card and the inside of the pop-up.

Here is a short video of the finished card and the pop-up effect.

Gradient Inlaid Heart

Hello, Today I am sharing a card made for CASology Challenge 182: Adore, and Simon Says Anything Goes #23. I used a die-cut oval embossed with the Alphabet Embossing Folder, and a Square with and inlaid heart sponged with Pretty in Pink, Regal Rose, Strawberry Slush, Rose Red, and Cherry Cobbler. The inlaid heart I popped upon dimentional tape. I added a Basic Black banner that I hand wrote "I Love You" on.

Here is a close-up on the main focal point of the card.

Here is a close-up on the rose that is also pictured with my card.

Welcome Baby Owl

Welcome to my blog, today I am sharing a card I made with extras from this other card I made today. It is a baby card using Bitty Banners, Cut outsamde with Fox and Friends, and DIY DSP made with Gorgeous Grunge and Hello Lovely. The Colour Combo for this card are from IN{K}spire_me Challenge #234, Early Espresso Whisper White, Rose Red, Crumb Cake, and Blushing Bride. I also added Baked Brown Sugar, and Kraft as they looked nice with the other colours.

Baby Monkey Business

Hello crafting people, the card I am Sharing today is ADORABLE, if I may say so myself. lol. I made this card for a couple of challenges: the colour combo from IN{K}spire_me Challenge #234, the sketch from As You See It Challenge #121, and the Friday Mashup Challenge #241 Going Bananas to use zoo animals or fancy folds or mash them up together.
To make this card I used a 5.5 square card base with a fancy fold step up. I then stamped the base with stamps from Gorgeous Grunge, Paper Pumpkin Glittered Greetings, and Hello Lovely in various shades of red and brown. I than added 9 layers of painstakingly hand-cut fringes. I topped off the fringes with chocolate chip bakers twine. I embellished the card with some cut outs made from the fox and friends stamp set and cut with my Silhouette. I added the "sweet baby" banner to tie the whole card together. Here it is again.

Here are a couple close-ups on the details.

Challenge in Retro Bright Colours

Hello crafting universe, Today I am sharing a card I made years ago, but I never ever published the blog post because it took me FOREVER to remember to take a picture of it. Finally I remembered so now you can see it. lol.
Here are the challenges I used to inspire this card: MoJo Monday's 231 Sketch, and this Color Challenge (the blog no longer exists) I just substituted Stampin' UP! colors: Rose Red, Lucky Limade, Tempting Turquoise, Calypso Coral, and Whisper White.

Retro Classic Rock

Hello Internet crafters or as you are sometimes called: glue gun goddesses and gods. Today I am playing along with the technique challenge at the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers Challenge #51, the colour combo at the ColourQ Challenge #326, the theme of Anything Goes at 613 Avenue Create #160, also under theme of Anything Goes Simon Says Anything Goes #23, and the sketch at Retro Sketches #199
When I first saw the sketch at Retro Sketches I immediately thought "file folder" so that is where I went with this card. The stamp set is one I haven't used in a long time and it is one of my favorites, and one of the only snarky ones I have (which if you knew my personality would surprise you, and you would wonder why I don't have more). The technique of paper Quilling I settled upon after searching Pintrest for technique ideas and stumbling upon this video from Stampin up.
I hope you like this card too.

I found it challenging to decide what I wanted to do, but I drew it all out and then went from there. (I guess its like goal setting you have a goal and you take steps to achieve that goal and from there you just adjust with the obstacles until you have attained your goal.) After deciding on my sentiment I thought I would like to try making a vinyl record to go with it. You may not be able to tell so much in the above photo but I embossed circles into the vinyl to make it look more like a record. For the embellishments I did 4 nested quilled stars- see the video link above to find out how to make them.
The stamp sets I used are Dictionary, Everyday Flexible Phrases and Bombs Away Birthday.
The colours I used are Naturals White, Whisper White, Chocolate Chip, Old Olive, Wisteria Wonder, Daffodil Delight, and Basic Black. (I originally made a vinyl record with Chocolate Chip but it looked all wrong so I substituted the Black on that piece knowing I already stamped the Dictionary background in Chocolate Chip and had a small accent strip of Chocolate Chip.
Here are a close up on some of the details in the card:

Here is one last look at the card. The quilling stands out nicely from this angle.

Love Wood Headboard Inspired Card

Hello Creative people in Internet land this evening I am excited to share with you a card I made today for a couple of challenges. The card is inspired most by the photo used as the colour combination and I am very happy with how it all turned out. I wanted to create the feel of a rustic wood sign that you find all the DIYs for on Pinterest.
The challenges I used for this card are the colour combo from Color Throwdown #377, the theme from Paper Craft Crew Card Sketch #179, and the sketch from Mojo Monday #432. As you may notice I rotated the original sketch from Mojo Mondays to suit the idea I had.
The stamp set I used on this card was World Map from Stampin Up. The Colours are Crumb Cake, So Saffron, Smokey Slate, Whisper White and Early Espresso.
I hope you like it as much as I do.

I started with a card base 4 1/4 Square, stamped the world map in top of a 4" square of Whisper White and added to the card base. I then cut the banners, flagged the bottoms and adhered them to the base.  For the wood board I used some retired DSP and sponged it with crumb cake, cut it into pieces and then arranged them randomly. I popped the 'wood board' piece up on dimensionals. I designed the "love" cut out on my Silhouette Cameo and cut it out in So Saffron. I then outlined it with a Soft Suede marker. I finished the whole thing off with a heart adorned with dazzling diamonds glitter.
Here is a close up on some of the elements:

Dissected Flower Thank You

Hello fellow creative people,
Today I am excited to share a card I made for three challenges, Addicted to CAS #80 theme of RED, As You See It Sketch #120, and the colour combination from CAS Colours and Sketches #157. I am quite happy with this card design and the finished product is actually quite beautiful in person. I used Rose Red, Memento Black, So Safron, Daffodil Delight, Soft Seude and Cherry Cobbler. The stamp sets are Express Yourself and Flower Shop.

Here is a close up on some of the details in the card. I used dazzling diamonds glitter on the center of the flowers for an extra pop,and put the split layer slightly raised up on dimensionals. The colouring was done with an aqua painter and some stampin' write markers over memento Black ink.

I used the same type of idea to create this other card in the same colour combo, but with a different watercolour technique. The stamp sets in this one are Button Buddies, Express Yourself, and Elements of Style. Below is also a close up.
