Retro Classic Rock

Hello Internet crafters or as you are sometimes called: glue gun goddesses and gods. Today I am playing along with the technique challenge at the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers Challenge #51, the colour combo at the ColourQ Challenge #326, the theme of Anything Goes at 613 Avenue Create #160, also under theme of Anything Goes Simon Says Anything Goes #23, and the sketch at Retro Sketches #199
When I first saw the sketch at Retro Sketches I immediately thought "file folder" so that is where I went with this card. The stamp set is one I haven't used in a long time and it is one of my favorites, and one of the only snarky ones I have (which if you knew my personality would surprise you, and you would wonder why I don't have more). The technique of paper Quilling I settled upon after searching Pintrest for technique ideas and stumbling upon this video from Stampin up.
I hope you like this card too.

I found it challenging to decide what I wanted to do, but I drew it all out and then went from there. (I guess its like goal setting you have a goal and you take steps to achieve that goal and from there you just adjust with the obstacles until you have attained your goal.) After deciding on my sentiment I thought I would like to try making a vinyl record to go with it. You may not be able to tell so much in the above photo but I embossed circles into the vinyl to make it look more like a record. For the embellishments I did 4 nested quilled stars- see the video link above to find out how to make them.
The stamp sets I used are Dictionary, Everyday Flexible Phrases and Bombs Away Birthday.
The colours I used are Naturals White, Whisper White, Chocolate Chip, Old Olive, Wisteria Wonder, Daffodil Delight, and Basic Black. (I originally made a vinyl record with Chocolate Chip but it looked all wrong so I substituted the Black on that piece knowing I already stamped the Dictionary background in Chocolate Chip and had a small accent strip of Chocolate Chip.
Here are a close up on some of the details in the card:

Here is the Colour Combo, Technique Challenge, and Sketch for this card:

Here is one last look at the card. The quilling stands out nicely from this angle.

Thank you for stopping by,
Stay creative my darlings,
-Jill
