I am excited to share a card I made today. I am very happy with it. I cracked open a stamp set I just ordered, World Map and had fun making this vintage distressed map/travel card. I just love this background stamp. It is really versatile and totally great for masculine cards too.
I made this card for the Sketch Saturday Challenge #326, and As You See It Challege #52.
I did a lot of distressing by tearing paper and using my bone folder, Distressing Tool, Gorgeous Grunge stamp set, and aqua painter. I wanted an aged and weathered look so I even folded up and rolled some corners. I am very happy with this card and love how it turned out; and my husband and inlaws -who were visiting this weekend, were also impressed.
Here are some close ups of the details on the card.
Here is the sketch and inspiration for this card:
Thanks for stopping by,
-Jill
Wow! Jill, this makes me want to put on my pith helmet and search for buried treasure! Awesome distressing and ageing. Thanks for playing along with our Birthday Challenge at As You See It Challenges this week.
ReplyDeleteThank you Heather. I had a lot of fun making it. It felt so good to be in my craft room again.
DeleteJill you did a fantastic creation!! It was neat to know you were creating this while we were there - enjoying a relaxing morning over coffee and you feeling inspired in your craft room and coming out with this amazing piece of art! I so love your creative talents!
ReplyDeleteWhen will you know if you won the contest you entered?
love Mom B
Thanks Mom,
DeleteI think I needed a little bit of a creative outlet to relax myself. :) It was a fun project and I am so glad it was so well received. I think I will find out this weekend.
