Dissected Flower Thank You

Hello fellow creative people, 

Today I am excited to share a card I made for three challenges, Addicted to CAS #80 theme of RED, As You See It Sketch #120, and the colour combination from CAS Colours and Sketches #157. I am quite happy with this card design and the finished product is actually quite beautiful in person. I used Rose Red, Memento Black, So Safron, Daffodil Delight, Soft Seude and Cherry Cobbler. The stamp sets are Express Yourself and Flower Shop.

Here is a close up on some of the details in the card. I used dazzling diamonds glitter on the center of the flowers for an extra pop,and put the split layer slightly raised up on dimensionals. The colouring was done with an aqua painter and some stampin' write markers over memento Black ink.

I used the same type of idea to create this other card in the same colour combo, but with a different watercolour technique. The stamp sets in this one are Button Buddies, Express Yourself, and Elements of Style. Below is also a close up.

A Heartfelt Greeting

Good day online crafters,

Today I am excited to share a cute and simple autumn beauty love card I made for a couple challenges. The challenges are The Card Concept #42: Autumn Beauty and CASology #170: Heart. 

The card is made using a colour combo of Very Vanilla, Chocolate Chip, Bravo Burgundy, and Blushing Bride. I had an idea for layers and dimension on this card. I started with a Very Vanilla card base, added another layer of Very Vanilla CS which I punched a circle out of. Next I layered that peice of CS on top of a Bravo Burgundy banner, popped a DSP heart on top for more colour and interest, added a simple elegant sentiment and l was done. Clean, Simple, Easy, and Beautiful. I hope you like it.

Fall Leaves Get Well

Hello friends,

With the chilly air arriving, those around us are falling ill and reaching for the Kleenex and the phone to call in sick to work. In observance of this I have hermit-ed into my craft room to avoid the sickies and to create a couple get well cards.

To make this card I used the Paper Craft Crew Card Sketch #168 as inspiration. Here re the two cards I made with this sketch:

 

I used some extra paper leaves I had cut for Thanksgiving name cards to make the cards, It turned out nicely and I used up some scraps. :)

Oh Christmas Trees

Hello Internet people, 

today I am sharing with you some Christmas Cards I started making for this year. Yes I know its early for some of you, but if I intend to send out 100+ Christmas Cards this year I need to get started early... and thankfully I already have a few dozen left from last year.

I began with a little inspiration from this card on Pintrest by Sera Lewis. So I found a tree shape, as I don't own the Tree Punch, and made a quick template for my Cameo. I layered it all together with some retired DSP to make 14 adorable cards. Here are a couple of them.

Blood Splatter and Bodies

This card and gift tag set was a blast to make! I had done some ink spritzing with Real Red Ink on Whisper White Paper for another project a few months ago, but it didn't work out the way I wanted, so I set the paper aside for another day when I had a good idea for what to do with it.

I decided to use the spritzed paper as blood splatter and create some spooky crime scene cards for Halloween and the Addicted to CAS Challenge #75. The challenge is to create a clean and simple card with a spooky feel. I think I captured that, and maybe ventured into gruesome.... oh well. :)

 

  

This project I think was the perfect use for my 'blood splatter spritzed' card stock and I am even tempted to do another project with the same technique. 

To make these cards I used my amazing Silhouette Cameo to cut out the chalk body outlines and to sketch out the font for the police tape. For the chalk body outlines I started with a jpeg of a man, I used the knife tool to cut his body pieces and rearranged him so his body would lay in weird angles. (hearing myself say that I sound like I cut up a body, which does fit the theme of this card, although it makes me fell icky) After I had the limbs angled in the way I wanted I used the offset tool to create an outside outline at 0.06 inches. For the caution Tape I used Ariel MS font to type out what I wanted to write. Next I used the offset tool's internal offset to get the text to be as close to a single line as possible and saved it. I deleted the original font and 'cut' the font using my sketch pen. Once it was finished in my Cameo I just cut it into strips using my paper trimmer.

CAS Filmstrip Shaker

Hello friends, 

Today I am participating in three challenges to make this cute CAS card. The challenges are a tic-tac-toe challenge from The Paper Players 247, a colour combo from the Color Throwdown 344, and a sketch from As You See It Challenge #089. I combined these three challenges to create the card below, and had a bunch of fun doing it. 

For the PP247 tic-tac-toe I chose the right column which is "sequins, a flower, and any shade of yellow," I paired this with the colour combo of wild wasabi, whisper white, so saffron (for the yellow) and pink pirouette inspired by CTCC344. It all worked out nicely with the concept of a shaker card and the sketch from AYSI089.

A Bright 26th

Happy Wednesday internet friends, 

Today I want to share an adorable birthday card I made for one of my best friends for her 26th Birthday this year. To make this card I used inspiration from Colour Me Creative Challenge #72 and Paper Craft Crew sketch #145. A cute layout and a fabulous color combo.

The colours for this card are Bermuda Bay, Pear Pizzazz, Daffodil Delight, and Whisper White. I took the provided sketch and rotated it to get this look.

To make this card I first spritzed the front of a 6x6 Whisper White card base with Pear Pizzazz mixed with rubbing alcohol. I added a piece of retired DSP (only now realizing it it Coastal Cabana... oops) layered with some retired So Saffron Grosgrain ribbon. I also added one piece of Daffodil Delight stamped with Gorgeous Grunge, and one piece of Daffodil Delight with Gold Washi tape.

I used a piece of Pear Pizzazz in the Modern Label Shape and layered it with the chalk talk framelits.

I stamped the sentiment on Whisper White CS and coloured it in with Bermuda Bay and then layered it with a piece of vellum, both were cut with the tag from the chalk talk framelits. I also added a clip and a simply pressed clay button embellished with white bakers twine.

To make the butterfly I sponged a piece of Whisper White with Bermuda Bay, Pear Pizzazz, and Daffodil Delight. I then cut out the butterfly with my Silhouette Cameo. I added some sparkle with the retired smooch paint and an old sponge. This card is beautiful (but quite bulky when I mail it), I hope my bestie appreciates it when she gets it next month.

The Word Unto Thee

Hello Crafters,

Today I spent a nice chunk of time in my craft room (about 4 hours) to complete a few challenge cards. Today I am participating in As You See It Challenge #87, Color Throwdown #343, and Word Art Wednesday CHallenge #184. Word Art Wednesday's Challenge provided this great sentiment from Deuteronomy 30:14, which says "But the word is very nigh unto thee, in thy mouth, and in thy heart, that thou mayest do it." This sentiment will make a nice card for both my grandparents in-law. Here is the card I made with these challenges in mind. 

To make the card I used Bermuda Bay, Tempting Turquoise, Chocolate Chip, Early Espresso, Daffodil Delight and Whisper White. I used the SU Honeycomb Embossing folder stamped with temping turquoise and the brayer to transfer the pattern to the card stock, and kept rolling it over and over to make my own DSP. 

I then layered on the greeting from Word Art Wednesday and a Daffodil CS banner.

The ribbon is not SU, and the burlap is naturally crumb cake coloured but I dyed it with Early Espresso re-inker and rubbing alcohol.

The heart speach bubble is from an old Paper Pumpkin kit. I stamped it in Burmuda Bay ink on Bermuda Bay CS and then coloured in the heart with  a white gel pen. I added some last details with mini pearls I coloured yellow and brown markers.

Sunflower Restful Days

Hello Crafters,

Today I spent a nice chunk of time in my craft room (about 4 hours) to complete a few challenge cards. Today I am participating in the As You See It Challenge #87 and Color Throwdown #343 challenges. I love the light and bring feeling of the get well card, it would perk me right up!

To make the card I used Bermuda Bay, Tempting Turquoise, Chocolate Chip, Early Espresso, Daffodil Delight and Whisper White. I used the SU Honeycomb Embossing folder stamped with temping turquoise and the brayer to transfer the pattern to the card stock. I then added the greeting from "Thoughts and Prayers" and cut a couple slits with my paper trimmer. Then I threaded the Daffodil CS though these slits.

The ribbon is not SU, and the burlap is naturally crumb cake coloured but I dyed it with re-inker and rubbing alcohol. The flower is the Pansy Punch and The Petite Flower Punch  layered. After I punched out the pansies I used my scissors to trim them up quite a bit. (they actually looked so sad alone but much better after they were layered together.
